World of Tanks
server emulator.

Discord exclusiveIn development

I’m building an independent World of Tanks server emulator for local play on a PC. The aim is to connect the original game client to a server running on your own machine, play battles with bots, and keep basic progression locally.

A local server for the original PC client.

World of Tanks normally depends on its online server. This project reimplements part of that server through reverse engineering, so the client can connect to an independent local environment. It is a separate server implementation, rather than a new tank game or a replacement client.

The intended experience is a World of Tanks offline server for solo play with bots: enter the garage, choose a vehicle, join a battle, return to the garage, and retain local results. That is the direction of the project, not a claim that every part of the official game has been reproduced.

If you are looking for a World of Tanks private server or a World of Tanks single-player mode, this is the kind of project being built here. The focus is a self-hosted local session, not a public MMO service or access to official accounts.

What works in the development setup.

These are observations from my development setup. They describe tested progress, with the limits below.

Experimental does not mean feature-complete.

Read this alongside the working milestones before deciding what to expect.

Compatibility is tied to the PC client build used for development. Support for arbitrary current or older clients is not established. World of Tanks Blitz and console versions are outside this project’s stated scope.

Bot intelligence, physics, armor interactions, map details, and client behavior remain subject to testing and changes. A successful battle in the lab is not a guarantee of complete official-server parity.

Vehicle research and purchases are part of the intended basic progression loop. They are not advertised here as a finished, generally available feature. There is no announced release date.

The next step is a usable local game loop.

Planned work, rather than a release checklist with a guaranteed date.

Public progress.
Releases through Discord.

When a distributable build is ready, I plan to share the server launch files and setup notes through Warden’s Underground on Discord. There is no public download package on this page yet. The game client remains separate from the server project.

The source code is not public. This page will reflect a change to open source if I choose to make one.

Questions about the World of Tanks server.

Can I play World of Tanks offline with this server?

Local offline play is the goal. The development setup already reaches the garage and experimental bot battles, but it is not a finished public offline mode. Check the project’s Discord updates for the state of a distributable build and its exact requirements.

Is this a World of Tanks private server?

It is an independent server emulator intended to run locally. “Private server” describes the separate server implementation here; it does not mean a public hosted service with an established player population.

Can I use it as a World of Tanks single-player mode?

The intended use is solo play against bots with local progress. It is still being built, so a complete single-player campaign, the full official economy, and all official game systems are not promised.

Can I play with bots in the original World of Tanks client?

Yes, experimental bot battles have been run through the original PC client in the development setup. A supported client version and configuration will be part of any future release notes; compatibility with every client build is not claimed.

Does it use my official World of Tanks account?

The project uses its own local state. It does not provide access to an official account, import official progress, or synchronize rewards back to the live game.

Where can I download the World of Tanks server emulator?

Binary releases are planned through Discord. While development continues, use the Discord link for progress and release announcements. This page does not yet offer a release download.

Is the server open source?

The source is currently private. It may become open source later, but there is no commitment or date. The planned first distribution is a binary release through Discord.

Is this an official Wargaming project?

No. This is my independent hobby project. It is not developed, supported, or endorsed by Wargaming.
